Hardik Pandya injury update: Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has given an update on the fitness of star all-rounders Hardik Pandya ahead match against Sri Lanka in the World Cup.

According to ESPNcricinfo"India's star all-rounder Hardik Pandya is set to miss next two matches at the World Cup, against Sri Lanka and South Africa, as his continues to recover from an ankle injury he suffered against Bangladesh. Pandya has not played a match since October 19, India are unlikely to rush him back till at least the final game of the league stages, against Netherlands on November 12."

Rohit Sharma said: he is not available for the tomorrow's match against Sri Lanka on Thursday, November 02 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

"It is an injury that we have to monitor every day by day how much percent he has improved, how much recovery has been made. how much bowling and batting has been done. So on a day-by-day basic we would like to take a call." he added.

At the ICC mixed zone after the England match, Indian bowling coach Paras Mhambrey didn’t have much to update on Hardik and said the medical team is assessing him. Check also: ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 - Points table

"I can’t really give an a updates on Hardik's and the medical team are handling that and very much in touch with Hardik and NCA as well. we will have an update in a next couple of days for sure. We will see how it goes," said Paras Mhambrey

According to News18 (CricketNext):Hardik Pandya has already had a couple of net sessions at the NCA, is under constant supervision of the BCCI medical team and looking good,” says a source told the website.

While the exact date of Pandya’s return could not be confirmed at this stage, but the news is that the team management may give him some more time to recover and be fully fit for the knockout matches.
